My boyfriend keeps trying to call me from the county prison.

But for some reason the operator won't let me speak to him it keeps cutting off. Is it because he's calling my cellphone with a collect number??? i don't know

Please don't be rude and also what does the operator tell him on the other side. this is the first time he has been locked up and he's been there 4 days from sitting on abandoned step and resisting arrest becuase he didn't think he was doing anything wrong! My bf is a good guy

That is possible. I don't know if you can even accept a collect call on a cell phone. I have never heard of it. You should get in touch with the cell company that you are with and ask them.

yep now they have consolidated system that handles calls you iether to put money on consolidated or not get calls

Check with your cell phone provider, but most do not allow collect calls. Maybe find a friend or family member with a lan line and schedule a time for him to call that number, just make sure you pay the person for the call!

you cant' accept a collect call on a cell phone. You can, however, take in a calling card to your bf. Give it to the police officers that are holding him to give to him. He can then call you.

Write him a letter that a cell phone cannot accept collect calls, leave that with the calling card. You can get prepaid calling cards at walmart, kmart, office stores and so on.

It probably is. Don't accept those calls at all. They are mega expensive. I would rethink a boyfriend that has the nerve to do something to get his butt locked up. You need a new set of friends.

If your boyfriend is in prison, why are u still his boyfriend???? and its probably because of the cellphone, maybe u need to tell him to call his home phone, or maybe the operator won't let him talk to you because he is in prison.
