and I am trying to help him find a job. I have known him since junior high and we both are now 23, I can see a HUGE turn around in his life. 3 years aho i wouldn't of even consider helping him out but now that I can see that he has truly changed and wants to better himself I want to be there with him to help him out. Only problem is he is having a hard time finding a job. I am not to educated when it comes to this type of situations and I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me in the right direction and give me some advice on how I can help him. He's already gone to his PO and asked him if he could help but his PO is a scum bag who doesn't really care so that one is off the list. I know he has aggravated assualt, grand theft auto, and burglary on his record. I know I know, lots of horrible things but he was on drugs back then and into the gang life but he has truly changed. So if anyone can pls pls help with some advice I would really appreciate it.

Multiple felonies on his record ... and one of them is violent! Not looking good for him.
Check with a lawyer about expungement, probably not an option with more than one felony on his record ... but with free consultation it won't hurt to ask.
Have him check into employment services ... some are specially geared toward felons, some are even run by people with a record.
The local churches (especially ones with a prison ministry program) might be able to help him, they sometimes know of companies that hire ex cons or help them find work.
Unfortunately even people with no felony record are having trouble finding work with the current economy ... your friend's record is just additional baggage he has to carry. |

It's nice he's changed and I commend him, but he's never getting a real job. When he made the choice to commit felonies, he destroyed any chance of ever getting a good job - forever. He could get some 12 bucks an hour job as a janitor -that's probably the best he'll ever get.
I wish the other young people committing felonies would read this post. They have no idea how when they want to be responsible adults their record has destroyed their lives.
Ps and the person saying "check into expungement" is of course guessing. You don't get to seal or delete your record after you turn 18. That's why it's called a "record." Remember, most people here pass off bad guesses as answers. |
