My friend/rape?

She should definitely let the authorities know. Tell her to try and contact the person that is in charge of his case or the person in charge of these matters in the prison. This can definitely have an effect on his prison term. I have a friend whose father was in jail for rape, child abuse and molestation and part of his terms was he was not allowed to contact her or her sister since they were the ones he was abusing. He started writing her letters. Well she let her lawyer know and he made sure that the prison knew and he got in lots of trouble since this violated a restraining order. She needs to let someone in authority know so they can make sure she is protected if and when he gets out. Unfortunately men do not usually get as big a sentence for a rape as I feel they should. All prisonsers have social workers. Call the facility and let them know what is going on. This will be kept in a file, and will effect his potential for early release.

In addition, what he is doing is called intimidation of a victim, and that is a felony. The prosecuter that put him away needs to be made aware of this.

Keep the original but make many many copies. Send the first copy to the DA within the county he is incarcerated in. Then to the warden of his prison. More copies to the court in the county of which the ex girl lives....get the picture? Then you get this girl to get a license to carry a concealed weapon..and send them that too. Send this to everyone you can think of...and when you are done..send it again. Then send it to the local media. Shoot...send it to everyone who might listen and even those who won't...who cares. What's he gonna do? Sue her for defamation of character?

Definately report the letter to the proper authorities! More time could be added onto his prison sentence if he was making threats on her life.

She should take the letter to the police station and sign an affidavit against him now, for threatening her. It could even constitute stalking. Do this every time he contacts her. That way, the charges will accumulate and he could end up in the Federal pen with even more time to serve. Tell her not to be afraid. The police are very understanding about these matters.

Have the police keep the letters on file. Alluding to the fact that he intends to escape is probably a crime as well. They can press charges themselves on that one.

Tell her NEVER to contact him or answer him in any way. That would destroy her credibility and after that, she can forget it!

If she doesn't want to go to the police, I think someone mentioned the DA or prosecuter. Tell her to call them and make an appt. She should bring the letter and tell them she wants to sign papers against him.

He most certainly CAN BE CHARGED. Tell your girlfriend to go to the police/court house and file charges against this piece of chit scum. Be there for her and even go with her, but please insist she goes and files a report and or charges. I wish her the best

yes turn the letter in .He can be charged with terrorist threats. he can also have some of his privileges taken away. all depending on how tough the prosecutor is. Action can be taken. YOUR FRIEND IS NO LONGER A VICTIM. SHE IS A RAPE SURVIVOR . Don't let this coward scare you or dictate anything in your life. Start a new chapter in your life. I recently ended a molestation case with one of my children. The guy only got 5yrs. And seven children were involved. We as survivors need to stand strong.

You and your friend need to take the letter to the DA that was on the case that sentenced him in the first place and then the police and get a restraining order.He evidently plans on doing far worse to her and should be kept locked up as long as possible.So turn the letter in!

Take them to the police. Thats threatenning behaviour and could be added to his charge sheet. He could also have his sentence lengthened because of it. You shouls take the letters to the police and take advice on how to disappear so he cant trace you

You have to keep in a safe place all the letters. also my advice to you is make a photocopies of each and have it notarized as a genuine or original photocopy. You can use this as evidence in replacement as original when you lost the original letters. keep the notarized copy in separate safe place. Go for assistance of a lawyer and file a case.
The court will be prohibiting him to go near your friend at a determined distance so not to inflict any harm. His violation will result to his arrest again.

Tell her to buy a gun, and report it to the authorities. He's probably full of crap, but better to be safe than sorry. I think all she can do is get a restraining order.

yes, she should take the letters to the authorities, and also have them contact the prison he is in. that way they can monitor his outgoing mail, depending on what kind of laws your state and the state he is in prison will depend on weather they would be able to put more charges such as terroristic threatening against him. but for the meantime they will be able to stop him sending her anymore letters. good luck, best wishes. hope all works out for your friend, she may even want to consider moving.

This letter can be used as means to get a letter of protection(I 4got the real name) where he is not allowed a certain amount of feet to her. I doesnt hurt to turn in though.
