in my state they charge you , for the service, if the cops come out, and for harassment if you do it for no reason,
so he wants to be childish, then he Will learn , he can even be prosecuted in some jurisdictions,

It is illegal to call 911 for non-emergency. I imagine a couple $300 tickets from me would fix your friend's problem. |

If he doesn't knock it off, the Police will use all the radio room documentation to take action against him. He better stop AND get some help. (Or the Police will eventually put him in a position where he has no options) |

There are other such cases out there. If he gets to a shrink before the courts get to him, he might avoid jail. |

perhaps the next time he calls he can explain this to the person on the other end of the line. they are the profesionals. they will be able to tell if he is just pulling a prank or has a problem and in either case, they will know what to do. |

well sometimes people call actually for help and they have an emergency..... when your friend calls...... he might be distracting the cops from actual emergencies! |

MN just passed a new law, making it illegal to falsly report a crime (finally!!!). Also, calling 911 for no reason is a waste of resources, which can result in a charge such as "harrassing communication." |
