My friends husband was arrested?

he was arrested for posession of drugs, but they didn't find the drugs on his person, they were found on the ground. Then when he got bailed they used the money that was seized with the drugs. What will happen with that? I am very curious to know. I have never heard of such a thing.

They never found drugs on his person, only on the ground. They used the money that they seized from him during the bust to bail him out. Could his case get thrown out because this happened??

Yesterday's "Parade" magazine had an article from a US Senator about America's prison problem We (I live in FLA) have the largest percentage of our population in prison that any other country in the world and at any time. Nazi Germany had fewer, so did the Soviet Union as did South Africa under apartheid. It's a national disgrace, and it's all because of Nancy Reagan and "Just say no."

What we weren't told about Nancy Reagan's drug plan (and who the *&^% ever voted for HER?) were the severe penalties involved for simple possession of drugs. Her plan called for draconian punishments, including mandatory minimum prison sentences for possession of the drug most likely to be found on poor black people: crack cocaine.

Nonviolent first-time drug possessors face more prison time than most killers, and that's NOT an exaggeration!

There have been a number of attempts to reform America's drug laws, but they never get anywhere because republicans viciously attack any reform with the scream of "SOFT ON CRIME!" I have been accused of trying to give children crack cocaine in order to molest them when I suggested a noncriminal process for simple marijuana possession.

With this kind of hatred for poor and black people fueling the debate, there will be no solution.

You need to re-word your question.....who used the money that was seized ? do you mean for bail it was used ? if that's the case, then that money was not seized....you can't use drug money to post bail (legally)

drug money is considered evidence, i believe. only a really crooked cop would accept that as bail money.

um, what do you mean "what will happen?". Did he at one time HAVE the drugs in his possession? Cus if so, then...isn't he still guilty of committing the crime, no matter where drugs were found?
