Also advise them that you have a long-standing, ongoing neighbor dispute, and that you are afraid of your neighbor.

Yes-call the police. Almost all towns/cities have ordinances against discharging firearms inside city limits without goood reason.

But first, make sure you can corroberate this. You can do this by finding out if another (trustworthy) neighbor has noticed this (very likely) and will backyou up. And/or you might want to discretely get a video record of him shooting his gun.

Then call the cops and let them teach this idiot a lesson! :)

You should call the police and ask if there is any law prohibiting him from firing his gun in the city limits. Most cities do prohibit this but not all. He may be within his rights to do target practice.

It might be a great opportunity for you to go buy a gun and join him in killing some bottles and paper targets...you said you don't get along well..maybe its an opportunity to mend the fence.

I don't know the law in your state but in GA as long as the bullet does not leave his property he is within the law.

Depends on where you live, if you live in a rural enough area it's possible that it's legal to shoot off firearms in your own backyard. I lived in a small town right when I got out of the army where it was perfectly legal to go out back and shoot some rounds off.

However, if you live in a big city call the cops and let them know what's going on.

In most towns it is illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits. But, if your neighbors land happens to fall outside of city limits learn to deal with it or move. Perhaps you should have been a courtesy neighbor and welcomed him to the neighborhood with a cheesecake or something instead of pissing him off.

He could be a heck of a good shot, minding his own business on his own property just outside of city limits thereby enjoying a nice evening of target practice in a safe direction. Most gun owners are very responsible people.

Question for C'mon: Why do apparent non-gun owners always assume people who shoot guns shoot up into the air??? I target practice all the time with my pistols and rifles and I know where the bullets go everytime. RESPONSIBILITY
