My son was arrested for possessing Suboxone (class III drug). Pulled over for tints on his windows, officer said he smelled pot and asked to search the car. My son said he didn’t smoke, had nothing to hide and gave permission. The officer found 15 pills in a baggie under the passenger’s seat and was arrested. After making some phone calls to friends he found the boy they were prescribed to and the boy said he had lost them. He said he would go to court with my son but was concerned about getting in trouble for having them in a baggie. He does not like taking a prescription bottle with him anywhere. Mostly so his friends don’t know he had a drug problem (which is what these pills are for). Three questions: 1. Can the boy get in trouble for having the pills in a baggie? 2. We planned on getting a Lawyer but since we found who the pills belong to, will a Public Defender do? 3. Is there probability the case will be dismissed before court. Baltimore Maryland
