Would have been nice if you had explained your wife's involvement in the hit and run. If she's the victim or a witness, you can expect nothing.

If she's the suspect, and she's been identified, you can expect a probation violation coming. Depending on what her original violation was that got her on probation, you can expect nothing to the imposition of sentence in her original case...and anything in between.

And it's incorrect to say that hit and run is a felony in California. The only thing that would make it a felony is if someone was injured...and normally it's got to be a fairly decent injury, not just a little neck pain.

You can expect her to go to jail.

Hit and run is a felony. Having an accident is not a crime, unless you are drunk. Running from the scene IS a crime, ALWAYS.

It's a very stupid thing to do!

The fact that she received probation means she will likely get the book (and the sink, and the desk, and all of the contents of the hall closet) thrown at her during the sentencing phase.

People on probation are expected to do EVERYTHING absolutely right in exchange for a less severe penalty for the crime that got them probation. The Judge is going to be less than amused.
