Need to find an attorney in Lake, Sonoma or Mendicino County who can handle a litigation against a customer who was been harrassed and was falsely accused of shoplifting by a major chain. The victim has sufferred severe emotional trauma and is trying to locate a good law firm to begin proceedings. Case may include damages for racial and age profiling.
Additional Details
This has been happening to alot of individuals and the chain needs to pay damages for it. I am wondering if an alternative is to file an official report of abuse and encourage others to file with not only Better Business Bureau but another entity that fines stores who continue to carry on this abuse without regard. The numerous cases that have come up will continue unless the chain is hit with a fine or a group plaintiff suit.

Before the victim files a lawsuit against this major chain, the victim should assess what the victim is trying to accomplish.
If the goal is to have the court order the major chain to be nice to the victim in the future, the victim should know that a letter of complaint to the major chain's corporate headquarters will make it happen, all for the cost of a postage stamp.
If, on the other hand, the victim's goal is to rack up a huge pay day to be awarded by a jury, the victim should be aware that suits brought for false accusations by a retailer in relation to shoplifting suspicions are rarely successful, and trying to prove racial and age profiling is almost impossible.
I would recommend that the victim get someone from the major chain to apologize, and then the victim should move on. Carrying a huge amount of stress over some moron store clerk's attitude will eat one up. Let it go.
