-neighbors built fence june 2008
-we agreed we would pay half of our side if and when we built a fence, but we didn't and can not to afford to right now
-in september,2008 they came over and asked me to sign a contract stating we would pay our half by june 21,2009, i said "no"
-they begin asking often and i felt like i was being harassed
-i eventually signed about 2 months later with the wrong last name so they would leave me alone
- i just found out they do not have a permit.
do i owe them? (I do not have a fence only on there side)

they want me to pay for half of the fence on my side but i don't have a fenced in yard.
when i build a fence i am more than willing to pay half but why should i pay for something i can not use?
they harassed me and made me sign a contract saying i would pay half by a certain date which is the part i am having a problm with. it also stated it is ok to build on the lot line which is fine with me if they want to do that. i just don't thnk i should have to pay until i have a fenced in backyard.

If the fence is on the property line then yes you are responsible for half the cost. If it is on their side then no you are not. As far as the permit is concerned if your city planning commission gets involved and decides to fine the fence owner the you will be held responsible for half the fine if the fence is on the property line. |

The incorrect last name is not an issue. It sounds like you have received nothing and anyway. But if you have received something, you owe. |
