Call animal control and report them. If they only did it once, Im sure it did not harm the dog. Maybe you should print out some information from the internet that tells them the dangers of giving alcohol to dog and slip it in their mailbox (so they dont know its you lol) but anyways .. I would call and report them if you see it occuring again .. |

Underage drinking, I don't think, applies to animals. However, giving beer to a dog is bad for that dog and is considered animal abuse. Those neighbors of yours probably wanted a good laugh to see the dog's reaction, and that dog shouldn't be with those owners. You should report them to the police or animal shelter. |

I would not consider it underage drinking although that is a funny thought. I would think some type of animal cruelty charge would be in order. I can see where the burden of proof would be too much to overcome with that case in court though. |

This is not underage drinking. The law only applies to human beings and not animals. As to the legality issue, the owner of the dog could file charges of damage to his personal goods and it could be considered cruelty to animals. Of course, if it was a very hot day and the dog was panting due to the heat, a jury would logically decide that the neighbor was doing the animal a favor. Were I the owner of the dog, I would not care since I have given my dog beer many times. |
