I guess the cop over reacted and has abused his authority. You can file your complaint against the cop with the higher authority if you are really sure you didn't violate any traffic law. |

Thats pretty common in some areas....
I believe their looking for drugs in situations like that.
Theres probably a good chance he wont appear in court,
So I would get a traffic court attorney and ask for the radar printout.
I know recently the ACLU made a video about what to do in that situation. |

Please, you were the one at fault. Do you think he had nothing better to do than to pull over your sorry butt? He runs a check on the plates and they come back stolen. Duh, to your way of thinking he should let you go and just know what is in your glove compartment. |

I myself have been pulled over several times, amazingly in small towns of course when I was going back and forth from my place to post, and all I have ever been given where warnings, and the best way all I can suggest to you in the future is be respectful wheather its youre fault or not. Act surpissed, turn youre radio off as soon as you stop the car, dont keep smocking if you do, and just be respectful. Yes sir/Ma'am, no sir/Ma'am and so forth, I know this might be hgard for alot of people. But try it. |

he wanted to get your for something.... do you have a history of arrest or violations? If you want the ticket thrown out, plead not guilty and explain your story to the district justice. They're usually fair... and perhaps the cop won't show.... automatically the ticket would be thrown out. |

if I were you I would take it to court, I don't know how it is going to go over but he obviously doesn't have proof that you were speeding so it will be your word against his and you will probably lose but it is worth a try I would think |

He cuffed ya for his safety! A lot of times stuff comes back stolen the person will either fight with the officer or run, or possibly has a weapon! Stuff comes back stolen he did the right thing! If he wrote u a ticket for speeding then pay it! I dont think he'd write one if u weren't! So get over it pay up for speeding and get on with ur life and quit crying about it! |

The cuffing part is completely acceptable BUT after he found out it wasn't stolen he kept you handcuffed is not for his protection. He knows it's not stolen and these stupid B#tches who defend these type cops make me sick. There is NO reason to keep him handcuffed AFTER he finds out it's not stolen. So don't say it was for his protection cause that makes no sense. |

That isnt harrasment, he couldnt have known. You need to learn some empathy.
I have a real story! I turned someone in for stealing, and the cop went CSI on me and came up with some grand scam that involved me with the theaf. The only reason I got off is because the person who was the victim didnt press charges.
Thats typical of city cops, and I know because I was related to a crooked cop, who ended up dying of an overdose from drugs he took from a stoner. |

Sounds like he was being a pig! I had a stupid judge threaten to make me do jail time for driving while suspended when I wasn't' suspended. I had paid my fine and been reinstated, but they never sent the paperwork to the license branch (from 4 years ago) so it still had me listed as suspended. I was smart enough to keep all my records though and had my husband bring in the original receipt. They had to throw out my entire case. Take it to court and file harassment charges on the cop. people like him don't need to carry guns!!!!! |

If you do not fight it, then you just gave them power to do it to someone else.
When you fight it, you give someone else power to fight it as well the next it happens.
Go to court, plead innocent, ask for jury trial, stick to your story.

Yeah I had something similar happen to me.
An ex-girlfriend of mine was at my house one night. Someone broke into her car and stole some things. We called the police and all, but since we had not caught the guy ourselves and had them sitting there waiting on them, they told us "too bad." Anyway, I found out who the guy was about 2 weeks later. He went around telling everybody he did it and that he was known for breaking into cars and other people's houses. I found the guy and beat the crap out of him. When he went home, he called the cops. They came to my house and arrested me for simple assault. When I got to the police station, the cop left me there in his handcuffs. The other officers there had to call the guy back to unlock them. I ended staying in them for over an hour. By the way, I was only 17 years old and had to go to school the next day. The guy who broke into my girlfriend's car went on to become a chronic headache for the cops while I went on to graduate from college and live a normal life. |

Yes, I got a ticket for during 45 in a 25 mile zone in my wheelchair. Go to court and tell the Judge your story, not a lawyer, as they have some that proceed over these types of cases. Most likely, if it's your lst ticket it will be thrown out and you will be given a warning. Don't worry, I know it upset you but some police officers overstep their ****.

That's NOT harrassment. I know you're angry, but I feel some truth is lagging. He has no reason to write you a ticket, and I doubt he did. But for pulling you over, most CRIMINALS have stolen tags, and he cuffed you for his protection. To make sure, he searched your car. Go to court and prove your point. But don't piss off people by b!tching about it here. |
