Where?
Probably a political threat to get a bigger budget. Prisoners have become a profit making commodity for the people who sell over priced jail supplies, for the people who get kickbacks, for people looking for fatter budgets, but not for the taxpayers.
The best way to solve overcrowding in jails and prisons is to quit making everything illegal, and improve communications in the justice system. 30% of the people in our local lockup are in there for FTA because they were given wrong information about court dates. Another money maker. |
