okay.. before you guys give me responses like "you are trying to get out of taking responsibility for your actions"... or "we all make mistakes"...
take into consideration THIS:
If I do my job wrong, does the customer pay for?
NO
I get fired.
If a lawyer does his job wrong, people go to prison.
If a doctor does his job wrong, people DIE.
now.
I got a fix-it ticket for my tinted windows. The car is in both mine and my fathers name. YES we have the same name, except he is JR. and I am III (the third).
i gave the officer my drivers license. I didn't give him false information.. It clearly says my name on my license.
HE made a mistake. It says both mine and my father's name on our registration.
Now there is a letter in the mail with my fathers name on it. a $200 ticket.
Can he (my father) take it to court and argue that he wasn't driving the car.. therefore shouldn't receive a ticket?
honestly.. Yes it's a measly 200 dollars that I can afford, but why should my father pay for an officer's mistake? Or me.
an Officer is an employee of the city, and I am his customer. I expect him to do his job right, and if he fails to do so, i expect he should be the one to deal with it.

The ticket is not issued against the driver or the owner(s), but against the vehicle, that has to be fixed or corrected.
usually a fix it ticket, (I use to write was thrown out if the problem was corrected?) |

Since you both have the same name, and the car is in both your names, it's obviously you or him. The addition of Jr. or III is not relevant. One of you will have to pay the ticket. |
