Ok people! I need to get rid of this speeding ticket, Help?!?

Every idea I throw out there I get negative response about how it will never work, well I need something to work. I was going 131 km's in a 100 zone in Manitoba Canada. The fine is 250$ and I get 2 demerits. I'm not too worried about the demerits, it the fine I don't want to pay. I have no good reason to have been speeding other than I wasn't paying attention whatsoever because I did not realize I was going so fast. It wasn't my car it was a borrowed work car and the only excuses I can think of are that I had quit smoking the day before so my mind was all over the place, I had just come out of the doctors office and got stitches in my leg, and that it was a borrowed car so it felt way slower than with my piece of crap car, all 3 of which are true. I cannot afford 250$ as I just bought an old piece of crap house thats being fixed up. I need some good ideas. Please this is my first speeding ticket ever! I don't ever speed. Help please!!!!

I don't want to hear any more "Just pay the fine" crap. I want some fn imaginative, creative excuses.

Get a lawyer. Excuses don't work. You don't want to say you weren't paying attention....borrowed car or not ...that's what the speedometer is for.

Though I'm not sure how much a lawyer will cost you.

30km over is a not just a minor amount of speed. Good luck.

if you can't pay it all at one time see if they will work a payment method with you most courts will just tell the judge the situation and tell them that would put you in a bind on paying rent or electric or what ever bills you have.

It's life, dear. And there's a first time for everything. If you don't have the money, sell something. Or talk to your local police department about the money problem, maybe they will grant you some extra time to come up with the money.
It's understandable that you don't usually speed and that you were just being careless. Been there. Done that.
Nonetheless, you WERE speeding and earned your ticket, fair and square.
No, that doesn't make you a criminal.
But when you make a mistake, you make amends and learn from it. Hopefully.
See if the department will grant you a few extra days to pay up. Maybe you can borrow the money from a friend or family member and repay them on your next payday.
Do the responsible citizen thing and pay the ticket.

**EDIT** Ok, here's a fun, creative excuse:
"I don't want to pay your lousy azz ticket, because I've always wanted to see the inside of a Canadian jail!!!"

Not sure about Canada but in the US, if you do not have a history of driving offenses, you can *sometimes* get a fine removed or lessened if you agree to go to traffic school. Usually traffic school is less than 20 hours, they offer variable schedules, and the cost is less than that fine. Worth asking about, at least.

Since it's your first offense, go to court and explain to the judge that it's going to be a real hardship on you to pay the fine. If the judge is in a good mood, you might get lucky and the fine will be reduced or thrown out.

This is the 2nd time I've seen this story with this sad a s s excuse. If this is true, you should have gotten a ticket for driving while distracted. Pay the fine.
