And to prove that it was actually a homicide? We have reason to believe that a relative was shot by her husband based on some of his past criminal history and other circunstantial evidence. Any comments or ideas? Any suggestions from Law-enforcement or others? Thank you.

If you can present evidence to the contrary then the case can be reopened. You may look into hiring an investigator like a former homicide detective to look into the case. Things such as the situation you described do happen on occasion. One more thing, you also may try requesting that the District Attorney's Office Investigate if they haven't done so already. |

The government can still commence prosecution for murder if they get new evidence, but it's unlikely that they will.
You can hire a Private Investigator to look into it if you like. If you can afford it, you can commence private prosecution for wrongful death in a civil court. But only the police can bring criminal charges. |

I think you should meet with the District Attorney and lead investigator and go over the case. Before the meeting make the DA aware of the past history and other reasons you mentioned to believe it is not a suicide. You may have some info that was not available to the investigator.
The DA office may never have seen the case at all as it was ruled suicide.
Suicide of a family member is hard for family to accept. A meeting with the DA is the best way to ensure all the facts are known. You may come away still unhappy with the results, but a review may be helpful. |

If the investigation proved suicide. It a done deal. only thing that will overturn this is hard proof.But with this ruling police Have no reason to investigate further . |

was it the Coroner who ruled suicide? or was there in inquest, etc.? If the coroner ruled suicide then there is not much that can be done. I would talk to the coroner. They have the authority of finial disposition on ALL deaths occuring in their jurisdicition. |
