The drugs are not just treated like found property and the proceedures for marking and sealing them are stricter than for any other property confiscated by police.When they are finished with they are destroyed .0One exception is when small amounts are kept for training sniffer dogs.

Not just with drugs - but with a lot of the stuff - they keep the majority - hand the rest in at the station and then it's held for evidence before being destroyed!

Use them as evidence then we burn them. We can't just use them, the paper trail for anything that is seized runs too deep with too many people observing their movements.

After all lab tests are confirmed, and the criminal trial is over they are incinerated. It usually takes several years for a case to go to trial and all appeals exhausted. Then the court releases the evidence for destruction. Most departments have super strict guidelines for evidence handling. Despite what most people think, police officers do not sell, use, or distribute these drugs to their informants. Think about it, after all the years it takes to release these drugs for destruction; the quality would be so poor and degraded that the drugs have lost most, if not all, of their potency anyway.

they are stored for a period of time then taken away to be destroyed. Who knows if they all make it in the furnace we will never know but i don t think the police would get away with nicking them

They are destroyed, 99 times out of a hundred. There are some corrupt police who keep them and 'sell/ use' them. But there are corrupt people everywhere....
Have you ever taken a pen home from the office. Destroyed a pAaperclip for fun.... belongs to somebody else not you....

they sell them to raise money for the policeman's ball no just kidding they probably put it in and evidence room then destroy it after a certain amount of time probably some does get stolen or misplaced
