Please can anybody help me?

I live in a really run down area, me and the wife do everything by the book pay rates pay taxes and just try and live a quiet life but were plagued by pigeons and they're making my life hell. I already told the council about it twice and they did nothing. I have to take matters into my own hands. These are feral town pigeons, they roost on the window sills the roof even in the guttering. No matter how many times i chase them they're back again 2 minutes later coo-cooing. I already blinded one with a laser sight. I can't hang my washing out, we've found 2 dead brown rats in the alleyway and one outside our door. These flying rats are breeding out of control and really freaking us out. What are my legal options? If your an animal lover don't bother answering just report me.

I live in a built up area so an air rifle isn't an option, i have a BB gun and i know not to use that either. Poisoning is the last thing i want to do, they fly off and die to rot and feed other vermin. Plastic birds of prey only work for a short time before the pigeons become accustomed. I do live in Europe as well.

You need to write to your environmental heath office at your local council. If you've already done that, I would contact the people around you and find out how they are dealing with the matter. If you can, get a petition of neighbours names and addresses in order to shame the council in dealing with this matter. As a last resort, write to you local newspaper and even your member of parliament.

You are allowed to deal with the pigeons yourself, I know people that do that where I live, and they shoot them.... discretely with an air rifle. Take them out maybe 4-5 a day over a couple of weeks. If you place some broken glass on your window ledges for a while, that might help a bit, be careful if there's children that might contact with the glass though.

buy a plastic owl and some rubber snakes both scare birds. a bb gun and some mouse poison can help also.

contact a local falcon flyer
get him/her to fly his birds in your street that will soon get rid of them or get people together in your street and all get cats

There is a device you can buy that emits a sonic noise which humans are unable to hear. For goodness sake don't shoot them as you can be in trouble under the Wildlife Act if somebody reports you. Other than that you will have to learn to live with them and be thankful they are not seagulls.

contact your county health dept and they can help you from there with mitagation of the problem and other advice or avanues to pursue also a free neighborhod legal service is helpfull,but document all of your attempts and the names dates and times of everybody you have attempted to communicate with take pictures of the situation and make noise like to a public interest reporter of the local news

is it possible to put some gungey stuff on your window sills and guttering. i mean stuff like thick oil . something they wont want to stand on . you can also get a bird scaring noise thing but i dont know where you get them from. you can also buy spikes to fit on your sills to keep them away. you need to make life so uncomfortable they will leave and not come back. do you know what attracts them? . i'm not much help but i really do sympathise cos i hate the bloody things. we get seagulls and they are just as bad.
edit. i hate to admit it but i like jedi's idea. 4 or 5 a day sounds fun.

By an air rifle and shoot them - just don't miss and let the pellets go over your property boundary into the main street or someone else's garden.

These feral pigeons are a pain and vermin - just don't shoot any wood pigeons by mistake - you could end up in trouble.
