Please help to do with the law?

I have just been charged down the police station with criminal damage and inconsiderate driving, I have to go to court on the 8th may for the criminal damage it says nothing about the inconsiderate driving so I'm not sure what is going on as I would have thought It would get included in my court summance on the 8th, will I have to go court will I get points or what please help

I only have a court order to attend on the 8th may, in the offence box it only says for criminal damage nothing else, they woulnt make me go to court twice would they? It would only be done in one court case wouldn't it?

You said you were charged with criminal damage and inconsiderate driving.

This would mean that an officer read out these charges in the custody suite in your presence. You would then be asked to sign the charges and would be given a copy of each charge.

If the inconsiderate driving charge was no read out, you were not asked to sign this charge, and you did not get a copy of the driving charge, then I would suggest that matter has been dropped. If there was sufficient evidence to charge you with that offence then you would have been at that time. It would only be one court case and not two separate ones.

Timbo - I think you'll find I'm not a bogus cop as you say. Yes you are right the offence is that of driving without due care and attention, which is exactly the same. And you most definitely do get a court date when you are charged. I'd like to know what your reference source is???

The CPS (criminal protection service) have probably decided not to pursue the inconsiderate driving charge but are going ahead with the criminal damage.Are you sure you were not given a fixed penalty notice for the traffic offense as this is done without court appearance

i have never heard of a charge of inconsiderate driving before that's a new one on me
i have heard of reckless and dangerous driving or driving with out due care and attention but inconsiderate driving, no

From the looks of your question and if you are really worried about the law you broke I suggest that you get yourself a good traffic lawyer.

If you are unsure of anything then go along the the CAB Citizens Advise Bureau they are very helpful

Careless and inconsiderate driving is an offence (contrary to other dumb users here) it is not as serious as driving without undue care and attention, .. Its a very insignificant charge and the CPS would have automatically decided to pursue you with the more 'serious' charge of criminal damage hence why its not on your summons.

You really need to seek a solicitors advice with regards to the criminal damage charge.

Bogus question me thinks as inconsiderate driving does not exist as an offence in the UK.
Looks like a bogus cop tried to answer it as well.

Also you do not get a court order to go to court and you would not get a court date on being charged.

If you must make stuff up at least get the procedure right.
