No. If you do not answer your door and make the Police force entry or if the Police serve a "no knock" search warrant ( a rarity) then the Police do not have to replace the door. The warrant gives them permission to enter the house and they are allowed to breach if necessary to serve the warrant.
EDIT:
Uh okay,
A judge issues a warrant to a law enforcement officer that says that Officer may search a residence. If no one is home or the occupants refuse to open the door the Officers are authorized, by the court system to enter and search, so they may keep the door in and search. The court has given you an order to do just that.
I have been a Police Officer for over 18 years, been on a tactical team for nine years, kicked in a few doors in my time and broken other things in order to execute a warrant and never had to pay a dime. |

Only if they kicked it in on the wrong house. |

I believe that this would be down to local policy and can only speak for where I work.
The Police service that I work for will only replace property damaged in a forced entry if they have acted negligently, for example if they have broken down the wrong door, which occasionally does happen.
If the entry was lawful then its down to the occupier to foot the bill. |

It all depends whats on the other side of the door, if its a gang of drug dealers, why should the Police give them money for their broken door when it was their fault the Police had to break it? |

If they found you were carrying out illegal activities from the property why should they replace the door it is your own fault for breaking the law or allowing the law to be broken from your property. |

well if you just got raided for drugs then you wont be living in your house for many years anyhow....
but no, they do not buy you a new door or anything else they might tear up in the raid...
the only way you can probably get a new door, is if it was like the wrong house.. Which I doubt hardly ever happens.. As they stake these places out for a while before doing busts. |

if the police followed due process then no, they do not have to replace your door. |

If the entry was lawful, there is no compensation. If it was unlawful then you can sue for damages stemming from the violation of your civil rights under 42 USC 1983. |

it depends. did they find any thing to warrent the search ? if no then they must rectify their mistakes as you are clearly innocent. but if they find even the slightest proof that drugs were there then they can warrent the search and your in shite pal |

In many municipalities you can submit a claim for damages and get the city to reimburse you. |

hi there.
As long as they had a warrant or reasonable grounds for suspicion (whatever that means) they can smash in your door and trash your place and you have no comeback. You would have to prove error or malicious intent on their part - try it! Everything is weighted in their favour.
Cheers, Steve. |
