No formal name that I know of.

I've seen it sold in catalogs as "theft detection powder" or words to that effect.

if your in the UK you are wasting your time
how do you know the person with the dust on his hands has not opened a door or used a public phone, just after the real thief with the dust on his hands has used them
can you be sure you have the thief or have you just an innocent guy who has used something the thief has and got the dust on his hands innocently
