Nahhhhh - THE REAL QUESTION IS:
WHY CAN COPS SMOKE A PLANT - AND,
WHY CAN THE FBI SMOKE A PLANT ...
AS PART OF THEIR JOBS OF COURSE ...
AND THEN PUT OTHER'S IN PRISON FOR DOING THE SAME THING ...
My only suggestion is to either become a cop so you can get legally high ....
OR -
JOIN THE FBI ... and get real high ...
hope that was inspiring and a helpful answer.
Peace;

the cops didnt make the laws they just enforce them. Thats hardly a fair question. |

Cops merely enforce the law. You should whine at the lawmakers, not the law enforcers. If you get right down to it, the cops aren't taking their freedom away. The law is plain. The pot-heads make the decision to break the law. So, essentially, they've forfeited their freedom so they can smoke a plant. |

Hmmm, odd that the people who hate the cops are the ones doing illegal activities. What a coincidence! Respect the men and women that protect you and quit being stupid. |

It doesn't make me feel any differently than arresting someone for DUI or PI or any other charge. It's nothing personal. Everyone that uses marijuana knows it's illegal and they also know they'll be arrested if caught with it. I don't put anyone behind bars that hasn't broken a law and I make no apology for enforcing the laws that are on the books. |

It feels like I was doing my job. I do not have anything personally against pot smokers but the law against smoking marijuana is constitutional and was passed by a democratically elected government.
If you do not want to be arrested, form a political action committee to have pot legalized or join a group that already is in existence and get the law changed

The LAW says that it is ILLEGAL to possess and use MJ or any other illegal substance.
The Police has a JOB of enforcing that law amongst others.
They do not make the law, they enforce the law. |

The police are just doing their job. It's the courts that really take away your freedom, and the courts are enforcing the laws that the legislatures (state and national) have agreed upon. Me, I try to avoid doing things that are illegal, unless I'm actively trying to make a point through Civil Disobedience. And remember that one of the tenets of Civil Disobedience isn't just breaking the unfair law, but BEING WILLING TO ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES OF IT. The essay on it by Henry David Thoreau was prompted when he refused to pay his taxes *and was jailed for it.* He didn't blame his jailer. |

It makes me feel great. If that person wasnt breaking the law, guess what? They wouldnt be behind those steel bars. The cops dont make the laws, they just enforce them. |

Out here in California it's a feeling we don't know anything about. You can't be arrested simply for smoking m-a-r-i-j-u-a-n-a (I spelled it because evidently you didn't want to actually say the word out loud).
But that's not what I'm here to talk about.
This is:
"I need some wright know."
That is some funny stuff right there, given the topic of conversation here. |

This is not the greatest arrest. But enforcing the laws are duties. As long as pot is illegal people will get arrested. |

Disapointing because it's a rememinder of what our society has stooped to in order to avoid dealing with their lives. It's not fun or glamorous just plain disapointing. There is a sense of relief that I am getting one more person off the streets but most likely that person will be right back on the streets in a matter of a month or two. |

What a dumb-*** question! Personally, I could care least how you destroy that crap-sack above your shoulders, but the laws are there and it's a job! People like you make it easy to do the job. |

Pot smokers...how does it feel to try and justify what you do illegally due to the fact that the plant is natural? Cannabis leads to other crime... Do you think that gangs would exist without drugs? They are based on a drug market. Violence is how debt is paid. If someone owes money or needs drugs they will steal. If someone has money or drugs they will get beat or killed. It is a cycle. To answer your question...It feels OK I guess. I would rather not take someone to jail though. We have an Ordinance Violation for anything under 2.5 grams. It costs $250.00. By the time a pot head figures out that this costs more of his drug money than the court cost and probation I'm on my next call... |

Well, seeing as how the plant makes you ignorant and totally naive towards all surroundings... and has no importance on the planet...
I would say it would feel great to do that...
but that is just me...
Im not a cop either...
The plant is an addicting substance, and is just as bad as alcohol... It ruins your life... |

There's a common misconception that smoking marijuana is safe and harmless. It's not.
There are 100's if not 1000's of pro-marijuana sites on the Internet and why not...it's cheap and easy to do because they enjoy the effects of the drug. But the fact is, it's a drug and it's dangerous.
One joint is as unhealthy for you as 40 cigarettes. And now there is a new study, based on REAL facts that " Using marijuana increases the risk of one day developing a psychotic illness such as schizophrenia, according to a study that provides some of the strongest evidence yet linking the drug to a mental disorder."
Another common misconception is that marijuana is good for medical reasons. False, it's not. The drug Marinol is however. It's contains a synthetic version tetrahydrocannabinol or THC found in marijuana but the difference....it's safe and legal.
Get the facts. Using it doesn't make you an expert. Being a scientist researching it does. Many people say that Marijuana never killed anyone and many people would be wrong. I've seen a LOT of marijuana related injuries and deaths, most specifically by vehicles. There is a reason is illegal and it's not just to harass you. If it was safe and we could tax it (and would be able to if it was legal), then obviously it would be legal. The government loves it's tax money, just look at cigarettes. |
