NOT AT ALL. GWINNETT COUNTY GA. IS THE MOST DISHONEST COUNTY IN THE COUNTRY..... |

Although I am biased (as a cop myself) I do put my trust in the cops in my area. I am aware however that they are stretched to a point where it effects the delivery of service that should be provided. In relation to the latter I blame the government, who are not doing enough and who are too busy making police officers chase pointless figures. |

a cop I once worked with gave me this advice....never trust a cop |

No---not if I were under investigation. They do not see things from our perspective, why should I? Its easiest for them to just flippantly make an arrest against me and call it a day. We all risk having our rights taken away from us every day. But there are a lot of bad people in the world who are not cops...I wouldn't trust them either....don't forget that.
As for individual officers, well naturally I don't know any of them so I wouldn't know what to say. They sort of "hide" from us, don't they? |
|

Mo
|
Why not. I've done nothing wrong for them to give me any reason to hide anything . Usually the people under 30 hate police. It's all about common sense and maturity. |

It depend what you mean by trust, no one likes being arrested!
A police officer is a representative of the society around most are resonable, some aren't.
Most officers are from the working class. |

Yes, as an honest citizen, I have nothing to fear from my local police department. For as long as I have been alive, I have never been mistreated or harassed by the police, but then again, I have never given them reason to mistreat me or harass me. |

Not really. I got a gun drawn on me for taking out the trash at a town home where I use to live---you had to walk about 100 yards to the dumpster. When the officer's back up arrived and they looked in the bag---he was laughed at by his fellow officers. When I approached him to say that it was alright because I didn't mind him protecting the neighborhood---he misconstrued it that I was being a smart a**. I did just get home from clubbing---but after that, I was arrested for DWI when I wasn't swerving or speeding, then he had his buddies harass me---got arrested for a felony DWI walking down the sidewalk, hell, I loaned my car to my dad and he thought I was being paranoid from them following me---they followed him for 2 to 3 miles and they took off when it wasn't me, etc...
I have several more stories, but hell no---I moved from that area. I don't have problems with the city police---just most of the sheriffs in my area. The county jail---if society only knew what those guys do---they would be locked up. |

I really don't have much dealing with them...but I would say probably 50% of them.
I just don't know any more.
It would be crappy job! |

NO.
And just when I try to give the others the benefit of the doubt, I sign on to read rants, insults and what they really think about citizens here... |

what kind of a weird question is this? and what about the weird people who are all answering no?
Do you trust them to do what exactly?
without specifics it's not even worth answering. |
|

yep
|
Absolutely not. All they care about is their own selfish self-interests. Serve and protect they haven't a clue about. |

nope. I know from experience that they don't show up when you need them. I've actually heard of them calling back an hour later asking if they are still needed! |

Some of them, but not all. |

No,
it's been proven they are dishonest. Recently an officer in my town was fired because he didn't report his drunk friend that crashed into an utility pole after driving home drunk from a Super Bowl party. |

There are some that I can't stand and others that I really trust. |

Yes. I live in a great town with a wonderful police force. In fact, our town has most of the police officers from area police agencies living here. We have very little crime in our little town, whereas the larger city north of us has problems. |

I don't trust any cop in any area!!!! |

i trust them to go after a dangerous person with a vengeance
could be good if the bad person is after me
i also see them abusing their power by preying on the population especially the poor...
the war on drugs is an excuse to hurt the lower class when the upper class uses legal drugs to cope with reality
in the end the poor are just trying to cope with reality and the police abuse them for it
secondly the poor steal as they feel it is their only way of surviving and the police go after them never seeing that the rich abuse the poor in much greater ways |
