Question about Speeding Violation in Arizona.?

I received a Speeding Violation ticket from the Arizona police on April 12th. I was going 85 in a 75. The cop marked down that I'm a male (I am female) and that it happened on April 12th 2008 (NOT 2009).

He told me that I could go to traffic school to clear the ticket. Today (April 21st) I called the court house but they have no record of my ticket. She told me to sign up for Traffic School anyway and call back on Friday to check that she has received the ticket from the police officer.

Is there any way to get out of the ticket since he marked me as a MALE and that the violation happened in 2008?

Also, what if the police office never files the ticket with the court. Am I cleared?

Yes, I was going 85. Actually, I was going 88. The officer told me that going 10 above the limit in AZ was a criminal offense, and he was going to arrest me. He said that I was honest about my speed and that he would mark it down as 85 so it was a civil violation rather than a criminal violation.

I am totally guilty - not really looking to hire a lawyer as I'd just rather take traffic school. I don't want to take traffic school or pay the ticket if the error in paper work was something I could wiggle my way out of or if he doesn't file the ticket to begin with.

Those are minor errors. The Police Officer will be permitted to amend the complaint in most jurisdictions.

The real question is were you really going 85 miles per hour?

If you were not going that fast, then I recommend that you interview several attorneys who specialize in the defense of traffic tickets.

Ask the attorneys about their recent trial experience and how many of there cases they have won and how many cases they have lost.

I recommend that from the attorneys that have a record of winning the majority of their cases in court, hire the attorney that seems to be best for you and contest the ticket in court.

Keep checking up. I had an issue like this before where i called to check and they had no record. Come to find out a year later that they just missed it and I had a failure to appear.
