Without a good lawyer he is screwed. If there is sufficient evidence proving the girl lied he could be spared. If he has witnesses than can testify on his behalf that she lied then that will help his cause.

He needs a good lawyer. Not much you can do with him. He would have to prove that a reasonable person would have thought she was 18....very hard to prove. Raising money for a lawyer is the most you can do for him.

well, mostly what you need is to find another guy she also told she was older than 15. yes, below the age of 16 it is child molestation. Always check ID's but be aware there are a lot of bogus ID's floating around. I f she would testify she told him she was older that is great but her parents do not have to allow her to testify.

I'm not sure you have the whole story.
A friend of mine has a son who got busted for child molestation, for real. Two boys, both minors. And a slew of other charges.

He got 25 years.
I am having a hard time believing that statutory anywhere has such an extreme penalty.

And I'm not saying you're lying...just that you might have all the facts.

nothing, it ws his choice to sleep with an under age victim and he has to pay the price. if you want, maybe you and some of his other supporters could pitch in and get him a lawyer but dont forget he did break the law and he has to pay the concinquences. this doesnt mean hes a bad person thouhg- just bad choices

A lot of it depends on the state. Some states are much stricter that others. Sadly, in most states it does not matter if it was consensual or even if the girl lied about her age. Ultimately we he will be found guilty. How light of a sentence he gets will depend on how good of an attorney he has.

You cant do anything bout it rather than raise funds for him to get a very good lawyer. Maybe you can convince the girl that she slept with to just spill the truth that it was not rape because both parties were willing to do such act and just pull back the case. That's just f***ed up there man.

There is isn't much you can do. He did break the law. Only a great (read high-priced) lawyer will know the best ways to minimize the sentence. You'll have to look to the adults in his life to help him, and hope he gets a judge who is fair. If it's a first offense, he's more likely to get probation. I'm sorry for him if what you say is true and he didn't know.

He is going to have to be able to prove that the girl said she was 18 and that he had no other reason to believe otherwise. If he can't afford a better lawyer he has to plead and help out his court appointed one like crazy. He can request a new lawyer if the one he has doesn't want to help.

It doesn't matter what his character was before or after, she was fifteen. Even if she consented it is still legally rape. The tip is, have him try to settle out of court. Take a plea bargain and chalk it up to a hard learned life lesson. 15? come on, i doubt she looked anything like an 18 year old. Where was he? a high school sleep over?

The court will take into consideration that she lied about her age and it was consensual. That won't negate the crime but it can help. Listen to the advice here. He needs a very good lawyer. This is his life. So all of his friends and family need to contribute if they care about him. Don't rely on a PD for this one.

There's not much you can do... if her parents are pushing for charges then the case will not be droped, and if they get the girl to talk and state he came onto her, or get into details of went on it diffently can be several charges.

He'll probably end up with probation... as long as more didn't go on that your unware about.

Well if your parents are willing to help him also then maybe they can pitch in some money so that he can afford a good lawyer. If not then all you can really do is support him. Pray for him and be beside him no matter what he goes through. There will be rough times but you will get through them. Just support him %100. I understand the situation cause one of my friends went throught the same thing. Ill be praying for him too.
