You have no rights in prison. You can be searched at any time, they don't need to explain themselves to you. There's also no expectation of privacy.
In most prisons you have to earn yourself the right to own personal items like photos. Your personal items can be confiscated at any time too. |

Everything depends on where you are at. When in prison your rights are limited. There usually is no such thing as probable cause. If you are in a cell block and a spoon comes up missing after lunch everyone in that block can be subject to a strip search.
Where a strip search is done is governed by the policies and procedures of the facility. Normally you will be naked and asked to show ALL areas of your body and that may include areas where an object can be inserted. I have even heard of people having an X-RAY done because of a suspicion they have contraband in their body. |
