I was leaving the mall in another city and was in the right hand turning lane when then light started to turn yellow.I slowed down and stopped right as it turned red...this suv passed me and ran the light turning left and the camera flashed...then i looked around and i didn't see any cars coming or any signs that said no right turn on red and from what i know its legal to make a right on red if no signs are present....so i made the right.Well they sent me a ticket...you see im stopped but the suv is to the left in front of me...then it shows me making a right turn.So im just not understanding....so my question is should i go and explain to the judge what was going on or just pay the ticket...i seriously dunno what to do.

Thats the thing though...there WERE NOT any signs that said i couldn't turn on red.So from what i learned in driving school if their arn't any signs then its ok to make the turn.I'm a good driver and i've never gotton a ticket before and i've been driving for 6 years so far.So hopefully i will be able to go and explain and see what happens.I just don't want my perfect record geting rouined.

Go to court and talk to the judge. He'll have to look at the video also to determine what happened. Whatever you do, don't pay the ticket! If you pay, you automatically take responsibility and it goes on your record.
Once in court, and after the judge sees the video, if he finds you guilty you'll have a few options.
1. Pay the ticket as a non-moving violation, which keeps it off your record and your insurance won't go up.
2. Take defensive driving, which also keeps it off your record.
From what you've described, though, that was just an automated response from the machine that scans through the videos and no one has had a chance to sit down and watch the video of your incident. I'm sure the judge will see the video and see that you did nothing wrong with that right turn. |

Depends on the state...
Bottom line is, the camera caught you violating the no-turn on red restriction - it doesn't matter what anyone else did.
You can explain it to the judge, but you'll still be found guilty. More than likely, you could be offered traffic school if you're eligible. If so, consider it, because that'll eliminate the cite from your driving record and your insurance won't go up.

Definitely go fight the ticket. Just explain what happened. If you pay it your insurance will become much more expensive for the next several years. It will end up costing you a lot of money. |

your guilty, srry.!!!LOLZ:) if therei s a red light yu HAVE to stop at it no matter what if there areny any cars or traffic you still have to stop thats the LAW!!!!JK ummm...well you still shouldnt of turned unless you were in a hury but you might not beable to win the case cuz yeah idk if the bill isnt that much just pay the damn thing instead of having to gothrough that crap or you can but you still might end up having to pay the ticket any way.!!
