Ride alongs with officer?

i have a ride along with the virginia beach police.will i be with a male or female officer. Amanda

Some departments may make the attempt to assign ride alongs to similar gender officers in order to avoid liability. My department does not use gender as a basis for that decision.

If you have a specific request - such as if you are a young woman interested in LE and you would like a woman's perspective on the job - you can always make a specific request. I would encourage you to contact the Virginia Beach PD and ask them directly what their policy is and make any request, if you have one.

What makes you think any of us would know that?
They could stick you with either.

Maybe they'll have a reason, like putting you with another woman so you can see the little differences that she faces.
Maybe they'll put you with a man for some other reason.
Or maybe they'll draw straws.

We obviously have no idea.
But have fun....usually the officer will try and make it as eventful as possible.
