Here's what happened today. Usually around 3:00 or so when school lets out on days I have off today, I usually walk around the neighborhood on a very nice day. I am friendly to everyone and there are alot of kids walking around and a school near me and this one 12 year old girl I see everyday says hi to me and we talk sometimes. Its not like I am a complete stranger but I know her from just crossing her path around the community and I may just ask: "Hows school going? Any problems" and we talk about life and she tells me what its like being a kid.
Now I am so afraid now and worried thanks to this police officer that drove by and thought I looked suspicious!! I was only talking to her again today and this cop drives by slowly and gets out of the car and yells at me with pointing after he pulls over: "HEY YOU COME HERE!!" And my hear races fast but I am thinking I did nothing wrong and he comes over to me about to carry handcuffs and he asks: "WHATS YOUR BUSINESS TALKING TO A MINOR?!!" And I said to him in a cofident way because I didnt do nothing wrong: "Its ok sir. I am not doing anything illegal at all. That one girl is friends of my cousin (which she is and my cousin also is a minor too) and I was just saying hi to her. We cross paths everyday! and he still makes a big deal and I got in severe trouble. I dont even want to get into the details about what happened after that and even the girl said to the cop: "I know him. He is just being friendly." and the cop says to her: "Hes bad news. Dont even talk to him anymore. He could be a child molestor!"
I am 25 years old and this has never happened before. I dont like being accused for trying to hit on a minor but what the hell is wrong with just talking to kids (ESPECIALLY IF I SEE THEM EVERYDAY WALKING PAST ME AND GOING HOME FROM SCHOOL!!). I can understand in todays world you cant be too careful but I didnt do anything wrong. Whats your opinion on this?
Now thanks to that police officer, I am too afraid now to do anything!!

What "severe trouble" was it you got into? That you "don't want to go into details" about?
Something tells me that what you are leaving out is pertinent to what happened.

Obviously you are making it a point of talking to this kid because you take a walk about the time they are getting out of school. Whether your intentions are honest or not, I don't know. But turn it around and watch out for yourself . You never know what kind of crap that kid could start to say about you. Keep your distance. The last time I needed a 12 year old friend, I was 12 years old. Don't put yourself in the situation to even be questioned about this. Next time you take a walk, go in the opposite direction of the school. Sounds like some other stuff happened between the conversation with you and the cop. At this point, for whatever reason, you have been tagged as suspicious. Just keep away. |

if your not doing anything wrong, you can continue your ****. Just dont resist that police officer if he does try to do anything and play it out in court, then try to have him fired |

dont worry about it. he might have had a bad day. or he might have had a prior experience and doesnt want that to happen again. but ur not in trouble that i can think of. |

Me personally....I would play it safe. I am sure your intentions are sincere but all it takes is one false accusation of child molestation and your done....innocent or not. Unfortunatly in this day and age I would just stay far far away from were any kids are especially if your a male.....you don't need the hassle of being accused of being a child molestor......sad but true....older males hanging around a school yard just does not look good.... |
