Should I plead not guilty to MIP charge?

I received a Minor In Possession of alcohol charge at my house the other night. The cops came and talked to my 22 year old drunk roommate who then proceeded to tell them that I was inside, so they asked to see me and when I walked outside I was issued the Ticket. They never saw a drink in m hand, smelled me for alcohol, or gave me a breathlizer. To tell them I had maybe three beers at the time, but was not drunk in any manor. I have no prior arrests, should I plead not guilty because there is no evidence to support that I was drinking, and seeing that all the beer in the house could be explained as belonging to my 22 year old roommate.

Well you walked outside and they gave you a ticket.
Go to court and tell the judge you were not drinking, but; as you have stated above you had 3.
Maybe the police are smarter then you think or you were drunker then you thought.

If you told the cops that you had three beers at the time, then you just confessed to a crime. That's the reason the cops gave you the citation. However, you should still fight it since the charge is possession and you admitted to consumption. The officer more than likely wrote in his report that you admitted to drinking and that's why you were charged with possession.
Your best bet is to contact an attorney in your area. Some states do have laws where consumption under 21 is a crime. If you do get an attorney, it may be likely that he or she could convince the prosecutor to drop the charges or lessen them to another charge. If you are in college consult with your campus' legal aide. You can also find an attorney in your are with the American Bar Association lawyer referral website

hell no.
they have no proof. so get a decent lawyer and your case will be thrown out cause seriously, unless they can go in front of the judge and SHOW proof that you were drinking they've got nothing.
so screw them.

but really DON'T plead guilty to that. cause even if you were drunk, they have no evidence. they didn't give a breathalyzer, and they don't have you on film exhibiting drunken behavior.
So no. don't be stupid.

get yourself a decent lawyer (not even a good one, just a decent one) and make your case.
lol and don't go telling the judge you had 3 beers either.
Be like, "i took a sip so i could see what it tasted like" lol
no im kidding. you never had a beer in your entire life.

p.s. i normally wouldn't give you such horrible advice to lie to a judge but come on, don't give them the satisfaction of putting a dent in your records over beer. thats lame. (:
