Okay so about a year ago i had met this guy when i was in Washington D.C he had approached me and i thought he was okay looking and we talked he lives in colorado and i live in new york, I knew things would never work out between us but he didnt seem to believe that. Hes been to the Psych center on a few occasions because hes a schizophrenic. After awhile he tried controlling my life by telling me I couldn't see other guys which i started to get a little freaked out about so i started to ignore him. I had joined face book and since being new to it i had accidently put my real address on where i live and he saw it and now knows where i live. Ive been trying to ignore him over the past 6 months but he wont go away hes sent me threatning texts that i have locked saying how hes going to come and find me and murder me. Not only that hes threatend me on facebook and has added my friends on myspace and has imed them about wanting to kill me and i have saved all of those messages and i.ms and have printed them out. All of this has caused me some large amount of emotional stress and damage, ive also contacted his mother to tell her to make him stop all of this but shes done nothing. A friend told me i could sue him because One: he threatend to harm my life and Two: Because of the emotional damage hes caused. Im not sure how to do this so id like some of your input on this it would really help me

Yeah well im only 15 and i cant really move? And if i could i honestly would but i cant and yeah hes very psychotic i called his mom again last night telling her he hasnt stopped and she called me psycho and that i make up ****

Yes, go to the police and also move if you can and don't give your new address or phone number out to anyone you don't have to.
Now that you've added that you're only 15, I have to ask if you've gotten your parents involved with this? If not, you need to because he sounds dangerous and their lives could be at stake too if he does try to do anything. |

Let me give you one piece of advice that you should remember for the rest of your life. NEVER, and I mean never, give your address out to anyone at anytime. What were you thinking? Now you see what happens. You need to tell a teacher or ask a guidance counselor to have them call the police and file a complaint. If your mother or father had a brain in their heads they'd take you to the nearest court for a restraining order against this guy. Now you are going to have to watch your back. These kinds of people don't just fade away. You can't sue him either. You are going to have to go with the restraining order for now, and make sure you bring the proof with you to show the District attorney why you need an order of protection. |

The first thing you need to do is to notify facebook & myspace. He is making threats against you, which is in violation of all kinds of rules. Then you definitely need to go to your local police station with all your copies and file a complaint. Good luck. |

He has made credible threats on your life. Make sure you save the evidence and bring it to police. I would report it both to your local police and to the police where he lives.
Don't sue him, get him put in jail. He's sick and needs to be removed from society. |

What you should do is go to your town and tell the police ( kinda obvious). And as other people have said keep the texts he sent you and print them out. Make sure also have the texts saved in case you lose the print outs. I'm not sure about the suing part though. What i do know is that if he does come to your area and attempts to hurt you, use self defense but make sure that you don't use anything higher than what he is using ( example: he uses his fists you use a knife) because then you would be at fault.
