Talk to your priest and ask whether he knows her. She could have dementia and not know what she is doing. Or maybe she is sick of being a poor OAP and decided that the world owes her - well its for the poor box isnt it?

If she is just taking advantage go to the police- maybe a ticking off will help and she shouldnt get fair treatment just for being old - sometimes old people take the p*ss because they think no one will say anything to them.

Talk to the church, chances are she is a regular at the church and they can discreetly ask for it back next time she is there, no fuss or muss. If the old dear refuses then call the police.

Go to the priest. Tell them what you saw and ask them if they want to call the police. Leave it up to the priest at the church to decide. Tell them who it was.

I don't think you should phone the police, but you should tell either the priest or the nuns or whoever is in charge of running the church. Describe her to them and make sure they discover who it was and have a word with her.
