Of course, a society that swills down booze and prohibits pot is hypocritical. Many of our "crimes" would disappear and jails/prisons would not be so crowded and expensive. Smokers are not a problem, they are mellow. It is those who cannot obtain the stuff, no money or too scared that they commit the crimes. Knock over little old ladies for their change purse is their goal. When the profit goes out the stuff will be cheap and those dope dealers would no longer be interested, no profit, not dealers.

I could say no, it burns the brain of the user, but heck the user has no brain to burn, so legalize it for all I care. Alcoholic drinks are legally
sold, but I don't use them, I wouldn't have to use marijuana either if it was legal, but I don't feel I should be able to tell you not to use it if you wanted to burn your brain, it's yours!

if it is legalized it could then be taxed and regulated so it would help the economy and lower organized crime, so maybe it should be

I think there are more "Drunk Dumb-***'s" than Stoned. Tax payers spend to much money on people getting arrested for marijuana usage, from the court systems getting tied up. The only reason they don't legalize it is because people can grow it... If they did legalize they wouldn't make lots of cash compared to alcohol. Also there are way more deaths from alcohol usage then marijuana usage, so to have alcohol legalized and marijuana not.. doesn't make sense to me

yes it should be treated like alcohol, and both should be legal at 18 years of age.

Marijuana was only made illegal because of the federal government's fear of anti-war protesters in the late 60s/early 70s. After that, it was only kept because of Reagan's facade of a "War on Drugs."

I'd say marijuana should be legal at 21, just like alcohol, and it should also be highly taxed and regulated. Although, hard, life-threatening drugs (like cocaine, heroin, etc) should be kept illegal.

If marijuana were made illegal, drug-related crimes would free-fall, and some cocaine/LSD users might stop, since there would be a legal avenue.

Yes, it should be, then it can be regulated like alcohol. I have always thought that it shouldn't, but have recently changed my mind. Too much money is spent trying to control it and too many lives are lost, its not worth it. The drug dealers would be out of business overnight and the tax revenue would be incredible. I never really realized how many people actually use marijuana. If someone wants to get it they will, being illegal is not stopping them.
