I'm an ex-cop......YES.

It is a vital and usually thankless job. NYPD was so far out of line, that they pay for new recruits was ordered increased by around $10,000. And officers received a 9% raise in pay.

Still not nearly enough for what they do. (Teachers are in a same boat)

Of course they should! Fire fighters, ambulance people, they should all be paid more!

yes, when your expected to be shot at, stabbed, run into and all other crap, i believe you should get more than $35,000- a year

Yes I believe they should...officers, military personnel and teachers. I added a couple but they deserve more money too.

Yes, but they should be much more educated. No more Good Ole Boys that enjoy the power-trip. That would be nice.

Many of them do. I know of an incident in my area where a police officer had stolen $200 from someone he arrested and got away with it. In my view police officers (not all but many) are not of calibre they used to be and need to undergo consistent psychiatric evaluation.

Come on they get quite well paid today and have better pensions than most....Lets be practical, if a Policeman was offered 50,000 pounds a year he would still want more?
No I think they get a fair days pay for a fair days work....Its a job with risk and they knew the risks when they applied. Its a job with Occupational Hazard....
