allowed. you need to go. Trust me. |

Considering the fact that you can't spell, the I think you really shouldn't have a choice. When you are an adult you can make the decision whether you want to go to school or not, but as a child your mind isn't as developed as an adults and is not always able to make the best decisions for yourself. |

NO although we grumble about getting up education up till at least high school should be mandatory, only because America can;t afford to continue falling behind other countries. We nedd to continue producing great minds that can use our amzing rights and freedom to better the world. |

no, it's in place to keep people without enough sense to stay in school from ruining their adult lives before they have enough responsibility to make the decision for themselves. Don't you think the government supports enough people with assistance without having to take care of irresponsible dropouts? |

No because as a kid you really dont know what is going to be best for your future. The only reason a lot of people dont like school is cause they dont want to either get up early or do any work. School gives us an education and also teaches us social skills |

I think that this is a hard question to answer...but, in my own personal opinion if you are a minor then you shouldn't have that choice simply bc at such young ages we imagine that we know everything and truly believe that we do...heck it wasn't too long ago when I felt the same way ...sadly I dropped out of high school but, later went and got my GED...I used to think history was boring and stupid bc it was about the past and dead people and how could that possibly help me later in life...what I failed to realize was that the future is built from the past (History) and with out history we have no future....There are many other examples I could give you and of course another reason being...without an education...its hard to reach for the stars...and become someone who is financially stable or at least comfortable. |

no, children should not be allowed to decide important issues for thierself.
Most have to many "rights" and liberties already.
I would tell you about how far I walked to school, but of course it sounded better in person. |

At a certain age, lets say maybe 18 or 19 you should be allowed. And I think in most places you can. Any younger and that should not be a choice.
I have no problems with anyone who doesn't want to receive an education, simply because who else will clean the toilets at work and so forth. Certainly not someone who has a degree. |

No because then we would have a country filled with total idiots who thought that they didn't need to go to school. Be greatful, sheesh. Just go out on the street in the city and talk to a homeless guy, and you'll change your mind like 'that', don't be foolish. |

Either go to school and LEARN or just drop out. Your choice...your life....BUT...do not put your hand out for welfare....do not beg on the streets.....do not take up jail space by stealing or doing drugs. It iIS your life....decide where you what to get and the take steps to get there. If you want to be a ditch digger....fine, but if you want a Plasma 48 inch and a Porche then stay in school for as long as you can and learn EVERYTHING possible! |

Sorry; you have to go till your at least 16. The idea is you might learn enough to contribute to society at the end of it all.
At the moment it's free, when you have to finish High School at evening class 10 years from now, you'll have to pay.
Hang in there! |

<<<<its not like who ever made that law is running our lives.>>>
No, they're the people who have to dole out the welfare checks
that the rest of us pay in taxes to support the uneducated
people in the country.
Not being educated has a PRICE. |

Like many laws, this one is for the benefit of the kids. In a perfect world, good parenting would make these laws unnecessary.
Most states only require school attendance up until 16 years old. Before that age, a child is not considered mature enough to make the choice on his own.
I agree with these laws because getting a basic eduction is the most important thing anyone can do to insure a productive future.
Anyone who complains about being "forced" to attend school should try living in a country where only those born into wealth and power are able to have an education. Try bettering yourself when you are unable to read or do simple math.
Stop whining, thank your lucky stars you were born in a nation that gives you a free education, and do your homework. |

I don't think so. What you think is right for you now, you are deciding without all the facts that life will show you as you get older. Schooling is the best way to ensure that you will be ready to present yourself in a job market where 1000's of other people are trying to get the jobs you want. |

You DO have a choice. ONCE you turn 16. Until then GO TO SCHOOL. |

If you ever want to get a good job you will find that most places won't hire you unless you have at least a high school education, and now allot of places require college courses, so if you want to survive in this world you need a education. |

Nope, when you are a child you have no rights. And a perfect example of why you should be forced to go to school is right above in your question. Allowed is the correct spelling for the word you have mis-used above Aloud. Your punctuation and spelling taken into account, you need to be in school, probably 24 hours a day. |

learning is a part of growing up,you must have the ability to stand on your own two feet when the time comes for you to go out in the world on your own.education will give you that ability in whatever field you choose to work in,because if there is one thing certain in life its that someday you will have to fend for yourself |

It comes down to this.
Stupid vs not stupid.
With the spelling errors you've posted it looks like you've made your choice. |

you do have that choice, be a dropout and that's all to it. if you can have a decent life without education well go right ahead. |

True. There is no social contract compelling free men and women to send their children to what amounts to a political indoctrination center under the pretext of education. That would amount to slavery. It is administrative regulation masquerading as legislated law. People of America have got to learn that administrative regulation is NOT law and does not extend to the vast majority of the people. The choice should be up to the parents of the child.
Edit: I should point out that schooling was present in a superior form before the advent of "public schooling". Local schoolhouses run by professional teachers were the norm. America has forgot that most of her great thinkers came from these modest institutions. |
