Should we force alcohol control?
|
Lots of crimes such as beatings and murders are committed by people who are drunk every friday and Saturday night the police have to deal with all these drunk idiots. Should alcohol be bought by means of a licence where if you commit a crime while drunk you get it revoked for 3 months and then 6 the month after and so on. that way the people who turn into pr1cks when drunk would not be allowed to by drink and those who can drink without being idiots can drink in peace without toss bags being around thinking their tough? Additional Details Yeah but offenders can still buy the beer its not like its checked when they buy so these people can drink as much as they want untill the police catch them out

I half agree with you, something has to be done certainly. The trouble is, when draconian measure in the UK are brought in, every responsible person seems to take the brunt of the measure brought in by Gestapo tactics by the govt. Measures were brought in the other week to 'double' the price of alcohol from supermarkets, so we all suffer because of the minority - every single time.
NO, I would make the police tougher at the weekends and tazor them and have special 'cooler' cells set up in car parks that locked up drunkards all weekend if necessary. You can turn empty lorry containers into temporary prison cells quite easily and have up to 10 drunken yobs in them at a time. |

A lot of crimes are also done because of poverty....Are we going to force poverty control? Over three quarters of all crime in Britain is due to immigration. how about immigration control?...NAA.... easier to find something easier to handle isn't it. how about a good strict control on enjoyment?....a laughing tax....(taxed at a higher rate if its at the expense of Islam).....a control on happiness and freedom would be good too. i bet the old fascist labour party loves you. you aren't wearing jack boots and posing in front of the mirror again are you? new labour are looking for members to stone the windows and paint white crosses on the doors of happy people....off ya go. have a good day. |

There are already laws in place. The problem is not with the law but the lack of law enforcment to police all the suspect areas at once. |

I think that you may be under the impression that drunks who go out and buy alcohol are the ones who are committing crimes. And while that case is true it also applies to people who are offered alcohol without charging for it. Let's say that your law is in effect, that still would not stop someone from going to a friend's house and drinking their legally bought alcohol even though their license was revoked.
Anyone who commits a crime whether they are drunk or not are still charged for that crime because they were responsible for their actions. I don't want police officers coming up to and asking me for my alcohol card every time I want to hit the bar, that kind of measure is highly unenforceable and would require more of a police presence which will result in a delayed response time for serious crimes.
Also, could you imagine how many people would hire attorneys and clog the legal system to try to get the charges dismissed due to multiple factors? I just don't see this working, enforcing the current laws in place is good enough. |

that could work but it would be very hard to enforce it. america tried to do a prohabition once and it just encouraged illegal speakeasys. however it is a good idea and as long as the licences were free then we could give it a try |

Already done. If you commit a crime and get placed on probation, you are pretty much automatically barred from possessing or using alcohol, especially if the offense involved alcohol.
I can't count the cans of beer I have made my offenders crack open and pour down the sink. |
