Since the VT shootings, should we have guns anywhere on campus?

Yes, certain trained people should have guns. If one person might have had a gun and knew how to use it. Less people might have died

I have a few thoughts, but no real opinion. 1) if there had been one armed guy in the VT tech situation, there might have been only 10 dead, or 20 dead. On the other hand, hormones and guns don't mix well, and its easy to see how guns on campus could get seriously out of control. Its not a simple issue.

To the guy that said that "recreational shooting is ok" or whatever, gun ownership isn't about sport. Its about defending self and country.

Cho exploited a loophole. Almost everything he did that day was illegal.

The moral of the story? The criminal has it his way, while the good guy gets lowered slowly into the ground.

I don't know, in GA college students are not allowed to have guns, and in GA colleges fall under the Federal school laws of guns banned

i think it should and i think anybody that has a CCW should be able to carry a gun one them at all times

obviously the law states that you cannot carry a gun on the premises or in the buildings of an educational institution..though i believe that students and or faculty that have a concealed handgun license should be allowed to carry their handguns on school grounds..this will allow a faster response time to eliminate a threat during a school shooting like the virginia tech massacre.

Yes, they should be locked inside high-tech glass enclosed alarmed cabinets in every classroom that say:

Break and use only in an emergency.

The ammunition should be kept in separate, distant similarly locked cabinets that must be broken with several heavy blows that would give others time to stop it in the case of people up to no good.

No it should not but Governments have to look at armed guards for schools I think a childs life is more important than say a bank.~~

College students have no need whatsoever for firearms in their dorms, and even less reason for those firearms to be handguns. Shooting is a legitimate recreational activity, but there is absolutely no reason for firearms to be kept on campus outside of an authorized firing range. This should be standard operating procedure on every high school and college campus in the nation and violation should be dealt with immediately by (1) expulsion and (2) criminal and civil penalties.
