You'll never understand the crap a cop has to put up with without experiencing it for yourself. This is one of the toughest jobs there is, and they literally put their lives on the line for people that will never appreciate it anyway. Sometimes they do get frustrated and go over the line, but other times people have it coming, you just didn't see or ehar the whole story. For example, there was a video circulated not that long ago of a cop slamming a guy into the hood of a car, what you didn't see was this guy took a swing at the cop first. That was conveniently edited out before posting.

Police brutality has existed a long time, my older brother was a police officer and there were times that the guy that they arrested was being such an idiot and running his mouth they force fed him waffles, I know that doesn't make sense and does not sound brutal.

Force feeding waffles is when the arrested person is handcuffed and placed in the back of the patrol car (no seat belt laws back then), the police officer would be driving down the road and suddenly slam on the brakes causing the person in the back seat to slam his face against the metal barrier between the front and rear seats. They would normally do this 3 or 4 times until the guys face looked like it was a waffle.

Cops see to much crap from to many lowlifes, sometimes they just get so fed up they snap. I don't blame them

There is and always has been 1 and only 1 cause of police brutality. That is brutal people becoming police officers. The solution is to get rid of the bad officers. The problem is not and never has been as widespread as the media likes to make it appear. It is also a problem that will never be totally eliminated. Much of what is CALLED brutality is not.

they claimed that poor wages and insufficient support caused alot of it to happen down in New Orleans back some time ago.

There's alot of issues that play into it. Is it acceptable? NO. But there are things that lead in and attributes and conditions that cause it to rise and happen more frequently.

Yes it exists, but you also never get to hear the full story. Rodney King for example- He drove recklessly and very quickly through suburan areas endangering the lives of civilians and then attacked the police officers while high on drugs. The section of tape most people see is only the ending of a longer struggle.
Causes? Stress, Police are human after all and are falliable you cant weed it out or even really train against it, it happens.

Police brutality always existed. 30 years ago they used to beat the crap out of a smart mouth without worrying about being disciplined.

Now they are watched way more closely.

The cause is a person who tries to fight or disrespect the police....they need to be brutalized. If a person is that stupid...well...they need it.

At least now they use tasers and pepper spray instead of billy clubs. I'd never want to be a cop....I'd bring back the billy club.

Your question should in fact and in reality be the other way round - Since when does police brutality NOT exist...Surely what! if you want to hear the answer you wish for...get the hell out of him!! especially if its one-sided and he's all tied up & helpless. Have you not heard of martyrs?! and how any police authority in any country (with NO exceptions torture their victims till they scream, yell and YIELD?) And, from another angle, one very good criteria to recruit a police is to get 'gangsters recruited'...why? you use a thief to catch a thief lo! So with ruffians in the police force surely they know how to administer brutality....Right? Weird but often times true!
