So if I remove a parking boot, and leave it on the steps of city hall, with a note, will I be seeing cops soon

So, lets say I have a boot on my car, and i remove it, and then place it on the steps of city hall, with a note saying "didn't feel like paying, got to much else to do, have a nice day" will the cops come to my place tomorrow lol? or will they understand and congratulate me on removing the boot. oh and for the people that will say that i deserve it... it was for parking in a two hour spot for 2 hours and 14 minutes, so yea.

if i were you i would just open a shop for taking boots off cars for half the price the city gives...lol...now that is much better than leaveing a note, like a dump robber

If the boots are serialized in a way that corresponds with the lisence plates of your car then yes.

They'll tow your car and leave you a note. It'll read something like "Whenever you feel like not walking to work come by and pay your ticket and storage fees and we'll let you get your car back. Failure to claim your car in _____ days may result in your car being sold to cover the costs of your storage fee. Have a nice day."

You may not even see the cops.

Next time park in the 2 hour and 14 minute spot.

I think you will be receiving a bill in the mail. you might get a littering charge tagged on to that too. It seems like a cop had too much time on his/her hands though to give you a boot for 14 min. over.

Please forgive my poor math skills but isn't 2 hours and 14 minutes more than 2 hours?

Pay the fine , have the officers LEGALLY remove the boot and get over you bad self!

You parked for longer than allowed by law ... your choices are , 1) pay your fine and have the officers legally remove the boot or 2) Remove the boot yourself, and be liable for the fine, and the damage to the boot, and the destruction of government property!

Bottom line? The choice is yours! Choose wisely!

The boot was probably on your car for a half hour before your time was up anyway. I would do it. Even if i got arrested.
