Then as the chopper and cops are in hot pursuit, he tries to take a turn doing 35 and crashes into the back of MY car while my car is parked nicely in its parking place, so what happens?
Do I just pay my $500 deductible and get my car fixed and that is the end of the story?
The kid is 16 and doesnt have anything, so maybe go after the parents? I dont know.
Should I call a lawyer?
Out of all the cars lined up in a row parked, he decieded to hit mine and none others....great huh?

This is my experience, hope it helps.
The 16 year old that hit my truck (in my own driveway) didn't have any insurance either and he was driving his parents vehicle. Apparently they had let the insurance lapse. I guess because they didn't have any money.
Anyway, I used my insurance because I didn't have the money on hand to fix it myself. The insurance company paid for fixing my truck and the boy worked out a payment plan through them. He actually paid it back. You might not have such luck with the kid that messed up your vehicle. But the courts may make him or his parents pay restitution.
That could be a long process. |

You have to pay your deductible and can sue the driver or his parents in small claims court without a lawyer. The police report will be all the evidence you need. Your insurance company may be doing much the same thing. Talk to your agent first. |

Your not going to be able to most likely go after the police. That said you do not have to take it, you can go after the kids parents, as they his or her guardian. |
