Somebody seen me stealing from work on sunday then i was caught on thursday. i have a disipinary next thursday

In my observations, honesty has always been the best policy. Take responsilility for what you 've done and you will have the greatest chance of minimal actions taken against you.

It certainly depends on if you stole a role of tape or if you took a lot of money.

Minimally, you probably lost your job. Even if you just stole a stapler, they know you are a thief and will wonder what else you have stolen or WILL steal, if they allow you to stay.

If you stole something of value, they may call in the police and press charges. Large companies like to make examples out of people who steal. It tends to have an effect on others.

Don't bother using "But I've worked here for 6 years.", as a defense. They can only assume that you have been STEALING from them for 6 years.

Either way, I hope you learn the lesson. It isn't worth it.

I would think you could kiss goodbye to your job, and they have the right to call the Police, but I would think if they have not done so by now, they may decide to give you the chance to repay what ever it was you stole.
You will not get a reference from these people and your job chances are now greatly reduced. You were at the least stupid and at most a chancer.

Not that I condone what you did, but is there any chance you could return what you took? What did you take? Any chance you could say you didn't take it you just used XX for _____.? Technically, they can fire you for it. If your disciplinary is Thursday are you working at all before then? If you are, they can't fire you. If they are investigating and you are suspended til then, then chances are you will be screwed. I hope it works out for you.

really depends on how bad it is, and if you have a past criminal record. all i can say is no offense...but that was really stupid.

If they do NT fire you right away may be you have a chance to survive.. for a while.all depends how much you stole and what you stole...and how much they need your other skills. (THE TRUST IS GONE) Hopefully they will give you a strong warning ...and then later they will let you go when they find replacement...keep looking for another JOB ...and hope for the best.

You took a chance, now its time to face the consequences. You'll most definitely lose your job, and even if you didn't, it would be too awkward to work in a place where you were caught red-handed. As for your feeling bad, I'd say your feeling bad only because you got caught, let this be a lesson to you, crime doesn't pay. Bad deeds always come back to haunt you, sooner or later, just remember that when you feel the urge to pocket something that you didn't pay for or doesn't belong to you.

You could get sacked for this, you will get a chance to speak at the disciplinary meeting, id advise you to tell the truth about it and the reason you did it. After 6 years there, you really have shot yourself in the foot havent you.

I have been in a similar situation, They WILL fire you and possible take out of your final pay the amount for what you took. If they catch you in the act, yes, they can get the police involved. But like me , they will probably just terminate ya. lol

It's good that you feel bad for doing it, not just because you got caught. Are you a member of a Trade Union? If not, see if you can join one quickly. It's important for you to be supported and represented by somebody knowlegable at your disciplinary.
Important too, that you should attend the disciplinary, and be ready to apologise, explain, offer to repay, do anything you can to prove how sorry you are.

If you are not in a Union, get a friend to go with you to your hearing, preferably someone you work with who is well liked in the company. And find someboy who IS a member of a Union to give you advice, or go online to get it.

Good luck. I think if they were going to call the Police they'd have done so and dismissed you on the spot.

I have also been working for the same compony for 6 years, and I will probably still be working there for the next 6 years, as I have never, (nor will I) stolen from them. You have been stupid, and have stained your reputation, and will pay the penalty by being unemployable anywhere else. I hope what you stole was worth the price you will have to pay from now on!!!

everybody steals in some shape or form on this earth, big companys steal from small companys - corporate world is a mean place to be in. Next time get the blue prints for the companys building, and pull off a heist :-D

they have the right to call the police - you have the right to declare yourself 'mentally ill' under the mental health act. Get a good lawyer to represent you in court, tell the jury how you steal from the greedy evil corporate rich, and give to the poor.

to me you're no criminal, you're less threat to me than a blind kitten.
