On 03/26 i was on my way back from chicago. I was in indiana, came out of some construction and i thought the speed limit was 70 so i was doing 75. Apparantly it was only 60mph. I recieved my FIRST ticket ever for doing 75 in a 60. I live in Ohio.
I have a clean record and would prefer to keep it off my insurance. Ive heard about traffic school as an option. How does it work. Do i go to court and get ask for it, does it have to be appointed to me. Can i go before i go to court. Can I just mail in the completion letter or certificate since its about a 5 hour drive from where i live.
What is the procedure to keep this off my license do i jsut go in and plead guilty and ask for the school or a lesser penalty!

I'll give you the California version. Yours should be close enough.
You pay the fine AND go to traffic school. You let the court know you want to go to traffic school and the court gives you a deadline date to turn in proof that you have gone. In exchange for paying the rather small tuition for traffic school and wasting a Saturday, the court dismisses the ticket. |

You can go to traffic school but tickets in other state do not affect your insurance. You have to pay it so it won't become a warrant but other than that, it won't be any additional points on your record. |

ive done this, usually the judge will assign you traffic school if its your first ticket or its a BS ticket. You could even ask for it i guess, what its gonna hurt. If you go to traffic school yeah the ticket wont go on your record. He will give you a date on when to complete traffic school by. Its usually held on a certain saturday every month, and usually lasts 6 to 8 hours. |
