Speeding fine.?

I know the A2 road works very well and the new camera system that is used for speed enforcment. Its a SPECS system which works out your average speed between 3 cameras, they are the yellow cameras on blue poles that look like normal cctv.

The camera take a picture not only of the car, but cover the windscreen so they driver can be identified. Do not try and say you weren't driving if you were becuse they will show the picture at court and if you make a false statement you will be found guilty of perjury and possible sent to prison.

The road works and speed limits are signposted all the way through and the fact that there are average speed check camera in operation is also sign posted at every slip and entrance to the work area.

I am sorry to say that I dont think you will be able to appeal these points, you can try but I thingk you might be struggling, if you go to court you might get a reduced fine or reduced points, but due to a lot of media coverage when these camera were installed they are set up & calibrated 100% within the law.

If you try and appeal and lose you could and lose you could get an increased fine, points or even a ban and will be liable for court costs as well.

you can contest it but its expensive you go the courts and fill out a form an Application and ask for judgement to be set aside

You got caught twice without knowing. You didn't know you'd been caught but you knew you were speeding because the speed limit signs are there for all to see. Such is life. Pay the fine and now you have 6 points, so slow down.

You've already admitted you were speeding. Now you have to decide whether to pay up or commit perjury.

You can request defensive driving course, if you haven't done that in the past two or three years.
If the judge grants it, it will only take care of one ticket and not appear on your record. You will do better with an attorney.

Nothing you can do really- best advice is ALWAYS to comply with speed limits in ANY roadworks, not just to avoid fines, but if you've ever had to stop on the hard shoulder of the motorways you'll understand what it must be like for people who would have to work so close to traffic passing "at speed".

If you feel there was inadequate or unsufficient signage about the speed limit you may have an excuse. In which case try the link below which might help.

By the way don't lie about driving. The fine for a speeding ticket is Â£60. The sentence for perverting the course of justice is 3 months.

I suggest you watch speed limit signs, they are not put there for fun but to protect the workforce from idiots like you speeding through.

You have done your crime now pay the fine...I have absolutely no sympathy for you...have you any idea how many road workers are injured or killed each year because of people disregarding the speed limits...it's no use slowing down when you see the camera because a great deal of cameras now check your average speed through the roadworks.... just be thankful that you are not in America...last time I was there, there were signs up saying that fines were doubled in road work areas...

You cant appeal against it just because they've put a new speed camera there without you knowing.You were speeding.You have to pay the fines.

Take the pain & take the shame, speeding indeed, you naughty girl.

I would be more bothered about the Â£120 fine than points on my license, that is until i have to re-new my insurance--OUCH.
