Depends on where you live. Most states have a point system, and if you accumulate too many, they'll suspend your license. Also, expect your insurance rates to go up lol. |

If you paid the ticket, that's it. If you want to go to court, you don't pay the ticket and request a court date. |

you usually have to take a traffic school course, which is available online, for them to revoke the points on your license. |

In California, they'll send you a notice in the mail telling you when to turn up in court. It'll usually be in the morning and there will be alot of people there so be prepared to wait in line and inhale second hand smoke. The judge will go through everyone quickly, ask you how you plead, then state the fine amount if you plead no contest or guilty. If you plead not guilty, he'll give you another date to turn up to contest the charges. Most plead guilty or no contest. On the way out, you write them a check, probably around $100. |

call the number on the ticket slip and they will tell you how much it is and where to pay if you ask and that should be it, unless you are at a place where court is mandatory, you can ask them about that too. |

General synopsis of how it is in most states.
You either admit to the violation and pay the fine or you chose to contest it and wait for your court date. If you just pay the fine you will be agreeing to the violation and it will go on your license record and you will lose points on your license.
If you chose to contest it you will get your day in court and have a trial.
Please make sure that you know the proper procedure in your state so you do not end up with a suspended license or a warrant. Generally the ticket itself should explain what you need to do (where to mail your response etc).
In most places you can attend a drivers course to regain points on your license but if this is your only violation you dont need to worry about it there will be points left. |

Depends. Better tell your insurance agent, and have a reasonable reason for your situation. Your rates may rise.
You paid the fine? Great. Now, slow down and use your mirrors more, quit playing the radio so loud, and stay off the cell. Somebody is counting on you to avoid a collision on that road. Do not fail. |

If it was a cash bond ticket and you have paid it, you admitted to the ticket and the points go on your license.that's it, unless your insurance company reviews your record, then your insurance goes up. |

When you get a speeding ticket you have two options. First, you can pay the fine before you go to court, or you can contest the ticket in court.
However, if you go to court and contest the ticket, you will more than likely lose, in which case you will have to pay for court costs in addition to the fine for speeding.
Its best to just pay the fine, and move on, unless of course you feel you have a good reason to think you will win.
I always fought mine, hoping the cop wouldn't show up.and only had it happen once. Just pay the ticket. |
