Speeding ticket in NJ?

I got one today for 62 in a 50. i already have points on my license for a previous ticket that i just pleaded guilty to since i am a college student and dont have any extra money to get a lawyer .

i really can't afford more points so any tips or ideas on how to get rid of this ticket and the points that i would get from it?
my one friend suggested overpaying the ticket and then not cashing the returned money, any idea if it works?

and dont give me speeches about how i shouldnt speed because i know i shouldnt and what it can cause so just answer the questions
Additional Details
when would i talk to the prosecutor, on the court date that is on the ticket or someday before that court date?

and would i need a lawyer if I go on the court date to try to get it lowered or would i be able to go on my own?

You can ask the prosecutor to change the ticket to unsafe operation of a motor vehicle which is no points but a higher fine. That's the same thing that would happen if you paid a lawyer. You'll know who the prosecutor is because there will be a line of people waiting to talk to him/her. Hope this helps. You can talk to the prosecutor the day you go to court. Just make sure you plead not guilty at least 7 days before your court date is scheduled for. The court's would rather bring money to there town than to the MVC and if they give you no points buta higher fine that means more money for them. Hope this helps

Your friend is an idiot - then again you don't sound real bright either. The judge has heard all the tricks, there isn't anything you can say that's going to get you out of it. You can make paymetns on your ticket, though, I suggest you tell the judge your situation and ask him if you can make payments, they're usually pretty cool about that.

All you can do is plea to a lesser charge with the prosecutor. You probably won't be able to get the points removed without an attorney.
