Steps on becoming a Police Officer in CA ?

I'm currently a student pursuing a career in Business Admin. However, seeing how hard it is to get a job right after school with this degree, I'm planning to drop out and apply to become a Police Officer (either traffic patrol or jail guard).
I'm really new to this and doesn't know anything about the Law Enforcement field. Here are some of my question:
--What are the steps of becoming a Police Officer ?
--I heard there is a physical exam. Is there like a preparation cource I can take so that a weak student like me (I can run fast but I'm not strong at all) can pass it ?
--How long is it typically take for you to become a police anyway ?

Well I assure you there's no force in CA that will accept you without 60 college units, so dropping out isn't going to help. Start working out at a gym right now and running daily to get stronger, it will be a while until you get to that part. |
