No, you can't request someone of a different race.
You will be searched by someone of the same gender, but the booking area is just too busy to be hunting down someone PC enough to suit you for a strip search.
As someone already said, if you don't want to be strip searched, stay out of trouble. |

You can request anything you want. People in hell request ice water! |

No
And by stating that you want only a minority to conduct the search, you are indeed showing that you are a racist.
And, what is a minority? In California, there isn't a majority anymore. By the year 2050, we will have a majority of Hispanics. (time to learn Spanish) |

Well, he or she can REQUEST it. But it's an unreasonable request and it would be denied in most cases. |

A minority in a jail full of Whites! You have got to be kidding, right?
A female has the right to be felt up by other women but it would be racist for a Mexican to need to be felt up by another Mexican just cause he's got a little dingle!
LOL sorry, I can't believe this question! Ha Ha |

id say public safety is more important than privacy in a case like this. I do, however, agree that its annoying. |

Ok you have a good question so here is a good answer. No. simple enough yes? I say no because there might not be a minority officer on duty. Say you go to an all black jail and your white? you think you can ask for a white officer. Nope. You just have to grin and bear it.. no pun intended. Oh and for the record... that's not the best part for us either bubba. |

You want to ask for a minority instead of a white person to do the strip search?? Whos the Racist now??? In plain english- Don't do the Crime- You won't be bare-assed in front of the Police or Correctional Officers. Get It? Got it? GOOD! |

Doesn't the junk all look the same in black or white?
By continuing to draw these distinctions, I think we are further separating the races, not unifying and accepting eachother. Next thing you're going to be telling me that I have a right to a woman doing the search--and that's just wrong. I'd rather have a man look at my (and my surgeon's) hard work. If I get to choose, he should also be about 6'6", tan and with a slight australian accent.
Sorry, what was the point? |

Unfortunately regarding your question, as long as it is a female doing the strip search on another female, your race or the race of the officer is not a subject of debate.
I know this is not the answer you wanted to hear, but I consulted with a probation officer prior to this post. Because of Title VII of the 1964 equality act, a female of any race can perform the strip search of any race; yet as you know no male officer can do this. |

No the only time they change officers in a search is if you an the officer may fight each other (you may resist) that officer. As far as a black officer searching a black suspect because the person doesn't want a white person touching them it doesn't happen. |

And what happens if there happen to be no black officers or the only black officer is a female? This does happen in small towns. |

you really show your ignorance when it comes to a strip search. only pat down searches are done if front of others. strip searches are done away from anyone and not to where others can see you.where do you get off saying it is a violation of your privacy?the only way you would be strip searched is if you were arrested. very simple solution. quit breaking the law and you will not be arrested.reired deputy sheriff of 25 years |

When being booked into jail, you can request a lot of things but the jailer is NOT in the habit of granting any request that is not required by law & department policy. I am not being a smarta$$ cause I am sure you understand jail is not a hotel where people wait on you.
I do wonder what difference it makes as to the person's race when all they really want is to see if you are hiding contraband in your personal places. A person of any race can do that job just as well as the next. |

I'm sure you can request it. The question however would be is if you get it. In the office I work for, we have 1 minority officer. You may just not have a choice. I really think the only thing that matters in the strip search is male or female. |

Unfortunately, minority is not a minority any longer once they enter a correctional facility, regardless of the location of such facility. ( the overwhelming percentage of the entire prison population is black and hispanic)/ |

You can certainly request it. You would not get it however.
The only consideration any where near this is that male searches male and female to female.
Due to equal employeement laws and rights your request WOULD NOT be granted in any law abiding jail/ prison.
Not being a smart a** just the plain basic truth.
Pluto, get back in your time machine and go back 3 hundred years. Oh by the way, you don't touch the inmate/ offender in strip searches. It's all a visual check of the epidermis and orifices. Medical would do the full cavity searches. |

It's a necessary evil - The fact remains, would you rather get shot, blown up, stabbed, etc, or have to be naked in front of some people for a little while. Don't get me wrong, I'm not all caught up in this terrorism crap, but I can understand the concept of the strip search. A majority of the time, if your not doing anything wrong, there's no need to worry.
As far as requesting officers, I don't think you can do such on a racial basis, however I wouldn't be surprised if you can ask that It's not preformed by a woman. Don't quote me on that though.
Basically, if you've got yourself into some situation where you can be strip searched at the drop of a pin - like jail - good luck. |

Nobody gets a choice on who books them in or does the search. At least not around here. Might be different in different areas. |

Dude, you have some weird issues. You should probably discuss this with a professional. I'm not trying to be funny, I'm serious. |

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
I do not see anywhere, where it mentions minorities. Do not give the officer probably cause, and always do not consent to any search and seizure. Watch this movie "How to Survive a Police Encounter" - You can find it on youtube. |

First of all, you are ignorant.
Second, you need to stop commiting crimes; that solves your problems.
Third, tone it down a little. If it was a just a question, then what made you ask it? You must have had some experience with it or know someone who has had the experience.
Fourth, your ranting supports my first statement, and my second statment still holds true. |

i don't think so.
i'm not a police officer though.
when did you have to get strip searched?
