I have a feeling that the decetive on this case believes that I had something to do with Money that was stolen from my coworkers wallet.. Being that I had found the wallet and Picked it up to put my coworkers things back in it.. ( I know dumb me) My prints were on it.. I got a call from the detective today asking me to come in for questioning. He told me Id be free to go if I wasn't arrested. So now Im a little nervous. I don't know much about the law and I don't know if I should get a lawyer or what... Any help would be appreciated

First I would not talk to the police without legal council present, the police might say or think that this is a presumption of guilt but I wouldn't believe this, the police are well equipped to interrogate and sometimes twist your words around to suit their objective. |

That's a tough one, if your friendly with your co-worker, convince her that you didn't do it.
If she doesn't press charges, how can you get in trouble. Besides, being falsely accused is rare, just be patient and the detective should find the real story. If you do get arrested, you may need a lawyer. Try to keep your answers clear and precise, and be honest, tell them exactly what you did and exactly what happened.
If your innocent, you will most likely be proven innocent. |
