In response to your rant - you are the reason why a pay raise is needed. Policing ignorance as well as crime is without a doubt a thankless job - but we don't want verbal thanks - why work for a dollar a day for $10 worth of daily work?
Cretins like yourself justfy law enforcement pay increases - fore not for us you wouldn't enjoy your simple human rights even here in YA.

All of the emergency services deserve a decent pay rise. We however are the only ones who cannot strike. We gave that up some years ago for an indexed linked pay award. The government have reneged on this but still wish to restrict our private lives.
They also went to arbitration knowing full well they were going to do their own thing. This was just a delaying tactic to save them more money.
This government has done nothing more than to waste money hand over fist. MP's earning 60K a year and having expenses in the region of 120K a year. They talk about saving money but fail to look at themselves.
As for you.... you are just another sad person that floats about this site with nothing constructive to say. If you want to make a difference become a Special Constable. I doubt you would be suitable anyway!!!! |

Erm, why on earth do you think the police don't deserve a pay rise?? they have in Scotland, just not in England.. you think that is fair? yeah the police may not be perfect, but who do you turn to if something goes wrong in your life? i.e your house gets robbed, you get attacked, your family member gets attacked? do you not use the police? if there is a riot outside your front door.. do not want the police to be there and try and stop/control the situation? you see someone attacked on the street are you going to stop it or call the police?? please they do a hard job, for little enough reward, they deserve to get treated fairly!! bloody 18k isn't a huge amount.. grow up!!!
Edit: well said tony t.. I guess the poster has just had a speeding ticket.. you should vent your anger on the people who make stupid laws not the people who try to uphold them.. they are simply doing their job,, and cleaning toilets (as someone else said, well you ain't exactly putting your life on the line when you go into work are you???? Yeah 18k a year? That's far too much! Personally I would face personal abuse, unsociable hours and the prospect of being shot by some little scrote who will probably get away scot-free because he is a victim of society for half that! And as for protecting this country from terrorist attacks (real or imagined) I'd do that for nothing. And just to have the chance, just the chance to go into any of our city centres on a Saturday night and have some drunken bint first vomit all over me and then kick me in the nuts, well I'd PAY for that privilege! |

If you think that is an adequate salary for protecting the public from harm , whether it be a gun man, terrorist, SPEEDING driver, knife bearing teenager, drug user brandishing syringe, pimp exploiting young girls, drug dealers selling to our kids , etc.

They are worth far more! So are Firefighters, Paramedics, Ambulance Crews, Nurses, Rescuers, Soldiers and anyone else who puts their lives on the line for the rest of us.

You really think that the cops are only good for giving tickets? I think the police are not getting well paid anywhere in the world. That is the reason why some of them become corrupt.
You must have committed a lot of crimes and got busted almost every time, that is why you hate the cops, right? You have to admit the cops are pretty smart.
The cops risk their lives to save people every day from the likes of you and I think they are our true heroes. Maybe you should do something productive with you life instead of hating

The type of things our boys and girls in blue deal with on a daily basis makes them more than worthy of a pay rise.Its not just a case of dishing out tickets,some of the scummy people they deal with is unbelieveable.They work the most erratic shifts which affects their personal lives and families and all to keep ungrateful people like yourself safe.Its a wonder they bother. |

Its not about throwing toys out of prams about not getting enough money at all. I suggest you do your research before you start manking sweeping comments. Its about not getting what WAS promised and standing up for what is right. We've been treated disgustingly over this matter and need to show that we wont just roll over and have our belly's tickled.
As for the 5 mph over the limit, everyone is already given a leeway of 10%+2 of the speed limit before a ticket is given. But again, I doubt you knew that either. |
