They let their authority go to their heads, thats probably why they picked that job in the first place to feel some sence of power over others. (not speaking for all police officers, just the ones that beahave like pigs.)

Could you hear their radios? How do you know they didn't receive another call? Not all calls to the Police are graded as "Immediate" thus requiring the use of lights and siren in response. Furthermore, sometimes Officers do not use "blues and twos" for an immediate call when there is a chance of catching someone in the act, ie: a burglar seen entering a house and currently believed to be inside the property when the call to the Police is made. Sounds to me like you're a hater but try doing without the Police for a week and then see where view point is at?

My word there's so many stupid and uninformed comments here I couldn't even be bothered to get to the bottom of the list. You have no idea why or what they may of sped off for, it may be a genuine call or it may not. I see loads of morons driving about everyday including people speeding off form traffic lights etc wow whats the big deal, so why should the police be any different??????????????
I know, they're police officers so they're an easy target.
You really need to get a life matey, after all there's far more important things in the world than worrying about the reasons why a police officer may or may not have sped off in a car..................That's really terrible that is.

Alas,it is a long time since the British police had my respect,this is due to the fact that they do not do enough to uphold the law and assist the law abiding public,therefore they have alienated that same public.

Judt because you didn't hear them get a call doesn't mean they didn't. I for one would appreciate it if a police officer drove as fast as safely possible to help me if I ever needed them to. You want to moan all the time why don't you do something to help society instead like they do.

Your right, some of them (not all) think they are gods, when in fact they are servants to the public, and their wages are paid by tax and rate payers like you and me, and i think it would be useful if they were reminded of that from time to time

they can as they are Police Force :) and as force they have power, in this world police can speed cars and people in power read RICH :)

They not only can do what they want but they know that they are above the law. Have you ever noticed that the dumbest people you graduated with in High School and the ones that caused the most trouble are now cops. Now they can legally carry a gun and still be a misfit in society.

Same reason that all drivers think that the pavement is for parking on, the law is ignored by all including the police. if you ignore the little laws then why obey the larger ones. I note that young blacks now carry knives and kill, I thought that murder was against the law. The police in some areas obviously think they are above the law, puts things in perspective rather doesn't it?

Bet you're sorry you got that deep tan now, huh, Dawn?! John - relax, where I live, plenty of white boys have knives too, and the odd knuckle-duster or two. The police are in a quandary - press and public are running them ragged - no wonder some are steamed up!

The British Police have decided to systematically alienate themselves from society. They have succeeded and many, many decent, moral members of society now hate them. Myself included.

It is the arrogance breed out of believe someone is with holding a position of respect / authority without necessarily earning it. Police like this are usually the ones who are not that good. My friend in this situation exercise the choice of free thinking. Keep your head down, let them do their bit, then quite simply stick 2 fingers up & break the law. I actually made a policeman run away from me when he was trying to arrest me for weeing in the street by using free thinking & pretending to be gay.
